Poured in PA: Harrisburg’s GK Visual to Tell the Story of Craft Beer in Pennsylvania

Earlier in 2017, GK Visual announced a major project, Poured in PA, that will chronicle craft breweries in Pennsylvania in a new feature documentary.  Hop Hedz Gear is proud to support them by offering Poured in PA shirts all summer long at our events and online at HopHedzGear.com.

You may already know GK Visual.  They have won over 100 industry awards and are known in the craft beer industry for their first feature documentary, Brewed in the Burg, released in 2015.  According to GK Visual, Brewed in the Burg “tells the story of a city and a community that are often misunderstood. This movie really isn’t about beer. It’s about people who love what they do and who are more than happy to help out their brothers and sisters.”

Even with the immense success of Brewed in the Burg, GK Visual didn’t want to stop there.  The group found that the craft beer industry has some amazing stories to tell, many of them outside of the friendly confines of Harrisburg.  With this notion, GK Visual has embarked on a whirlwind tour to tell the story of craft beer all over the state of Pennsylvania.

In a recent interview with Nate Kresge, Co-owner and Executive Producer, he said, “Ever since we produced Brewed in the Burg we've been itching to tell Pennsylvania's craft beer story. There are so many stories here that go beyond what's found in your pint glass. These breweries are reinvigorating communities. They provide jobs, tax revenue, and act as social hubs.”

Kresge continued by discussing the important impacts that brewing has contributed to the “rich history in Pennsylvania” of which beer has a major part.  They plan on traveling throughout the state over the course of the coming months, from Pittsburgh to Erie to Philadelphia, and all points in between.

According to a release by the team, “The Poured in PA production team will visit northwest and northcentral Pennsylvania in June; northeast in July; southeast in August; and will continue southcentral brewery interviews throughout the year.”  They hope to have a finished product within the next year.
